I only purchased the 'classics' -- "Dark Eyes", "Moscow Nights", and "Volga Boatmen's Song". Agree that the volume was a drawback on some of the others. Too bad as I surely would have enjoyed them. What intensity! What gifts these singers possess! As with Russian litergical music I was moved to the core by the pureness and strength of the voices.

A wonderful buy; you really can't beat the value of this CD. The songs are amazing and really give off that aura of Soviet pride that runs through most of the Red Army Choir's music.

The red army choir is very typical, but russia is no longer the soviet union, nor does it want to be, these songs usher back memories of "glorious" but misguided time period in russia.This represents the nostalgic romanticism of what once was.
