Album Review
It's fair to call Tyrone Wells' Remain his first real shot at the big leagues; it may not be his first album to appear on a major label, but it's the first to be crafted as such, and it shows. Remain is big intimate music: the songs are small-scale but the music is large, epic, and chilly in the best tradition of Coldplay and Jeff Buckley. This doesn't cause a disconnect on Remain, largely because the album works better as waves of sonic texture, something to wash over a listener. That's not quite Wells' intention, as his sincerity makes clear. Wells opens his heart so fully that he almost defies listeners not to delve deeply into his emotions, despite the album's rather incongruous cascading sound. Yet Wells' songs are elliptical, not melodic, and built on words, not hooks, so they lend themselves to this kind of cleanly majestic production, one that gives the music a sense of progression, perhaps even drama, that it otherwise lacks.

Tyrone Wells... A.K.A. Hero. This is Beautiful.
Man, do I love this guy's music and him. This is such an amazing album. He has progressed so much the past years with his albums and his sound has kept changing for the better. I went to one of his Habitat For Humanity benefit concerts and he played a bunch of these songs like Remain, More, Sink or Swim, and In Between the Lines a while back. It's funny, he played them at the concert and when I listented to them for the first time I basically already knew the lyrics. This shows how memorible his music was even if I didn't realize it at the time. This album is so amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone. Really. :] Here's a quick breakdown: 1.) Remain - He had this on his myspace so many fans should already know it. It's a great song with passion. 9.5/10 2.) More - THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG ON THE ALBUM. It's also been up on his myspace for a while now, and I love this song to death. There's so much passion. It makes me want to cry, happy tears. I love it. 10/10. 3.) Losing Ground - Another song that was on his myspace. It's a great song. At first I wasn't so sure about it, but it really grew on me. Hopefully everybody will also appreciate it. 9/10. 4.) Sink or Swim - Also a song that was put up on his myspace. This was suchhh a good song by him live. Seriously it's even better live than it is on the record. I love this song SO MUCH. 10/10 5.) In Between the Lines - Okay. Yet another song that was on his myspace. And, yes, I know that I've said this about every song but this is probably tied with Sink or Swim as my favorite song on the album. It's amazing. When he sings the lyric, "zero to sixty, running on empty" I melt. Don't know why, but it's just so so awesome. 10/10. 6.) This Is Beautiful - Slow song on this album. The name describes the song and the album. 9/10. 7.) All Broken Hearts - Such a pretty song. I really like it. :] It's a bit different than a lot of the other songs, like the style. A bit more of an acoustic feel. Love it though. 9.5/10. 8.) Drifting - Wayyyyy different sound. Not a big fan of this song :[. I mean it's alright but just I don't like it as much. 8/10. 9.) Along the Way - "I wanna be everything you lost along the way" *heart*. Love this song as well. It's so sweet and another great song. 10/10. 10.) Enough - Another slowerrr song. It's really good though. Hahaha I almost feel like it's a bit country. But not really. It's still Tyrone. :] 9/10. 11.) Before it Started - Love the lyrics. I'm not as crazy about the song though. The style/sound of it is a bit different and I don't like it aaas well. But it's still good. 9/10. 12.) Together - I wish this album would never end :[. But here's the last song until his next album. It's quite slow (and yes a bit depressing) but I love it and there's a ton of passion. 9.5/10. Overal this is just an amazing album, totally worth the buy. Love it, love it, love it. It's also great to see him live. Not only does he just sing his heart out but it feels really personal. He tells you a lot of stories about him and about his life. It's really just great. Not to mention that when he sings live he's even more amazing. Often he also greets you after the show. So basically all I have to say is that Tyrone Wells is an amazing person/singer/songwriter. This album is amazing and I highly recommend buying it. Hope this review helped :].
Tyrone-Tyrone so awesome you say his name twice!
Tyrone first played at my high school when i was a sophomore in 04 and wow. I have NEVER stopped listening to his music! He actually inspired me to begin my singing career and now i have been singing classical musci for 3 years! God has given him a great gift and i am always glad to see him utilize it with each passing album! He will go far with God at his side. It is my dream to write a song with him one day just for funsies. =) "More" is the kind of song this world needs MORE OF!
Great Album!!!
I didn't know who this artist was until I searched for the song "More" on the internet after hearing it on the intro to the A&E show Intervention. I liked it so much that I bought the whole album. This guy is very talented, great songs and awsome voice. I will buy his past work based on what I'm hearing on this one... Really like "In Between The Lines"and "Enough" Check it out!
