Album Review

Renaissance Holiday is a cool variation on the traditional "Fresh Aire" sound. Mannheim Steamroller tackles olde Renaissance music in their familiar style, and while that occasionally can sound a little strange — this was not music made to be played by synthesizers — it is very, very intriguing and a very refreshing spin on their signature sound.

Get this lost treasure for Christmas this year!

This album is one of the best Christmas collections around. If you like medieval or renaissance times (castles, knights, banquets, jousting, kings and queens), you will love it. Playing this album makes you feel like you're at a Christmas banquet in the 1400s. There is no one hit in this collection - it's one of those albums where you need to buy the whole thing and play it in the background at a party, while decorating the tree, at dinner, or just relaxing by the fire.

This is one of Chip Davis' best kept secrets. It's the music that inspires so many songs on the rest of the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas series.

Great Renaissance Music by Mannheim Steamroller

Great music by MS! Takes you back to the Holidays of the Renaissance Period. Great Music!

An awful mess

I don't understand the positive reviews. This collection is a mess. The itunes samples sounded great but after I downloaded and burned a cd it was awful. All the songs sound like they're being fast forwarded. They're very short and also sound tinny. Some songs are recorded much louder than others, so you'll have to stand by to adjust the volume. I always steer clear of anything for Mannheim Steamroller but since this was a collabortion between them and the London Symphony Orchestra I thought it would be nice. Wrong. Oh well, $11.99 down the drain
