Customer Reviews
Okay kids, let's talk.
Forty years from now I will tell my kids I grew up on many bands. One of them will without a doubt be Limp Bizkit. I will say it with a chuckle, but I can't deny or forget the truth. For some reason Limp Bizkit appealed to me as a kid. Hell it was Wes Borland that got me into guitar. It's pretty hard to deny the catchy hooks of Nookie or Rollin and it's unfair to deny the musical talent behind the guitars, bass, and drums of Limp Bizkit. Fred Durst is not a brilliant songwriter, nor are his lyrics terribly deep. He is without a doubt, the weakest link in the Bizkit equation. However, on Results May Vary, he seems to acknowledge this. The songs are self reflective, addressing the more popular times of LB, and even times when Durst himself was more creative. For Bizkit fans, this album lacked the polish of early efforts and their sound seemed less organized. However the album sounds like Durst is starting to get the picture and is maturing. Whenever I want to feel nostalgia for Limp Bizkit I turn to this album usually. It's an intriguing look into a tormented songwriter and a reflective look at songwriting and the music scene of the late 90's. And if you grew up listening to mainstream music of that time, you'll be right there with Fred.
The Best limpbizkit Album to Date
This album represents what limpbizkit does best. Results May Vary is an album that hardcore fans and first listeners will both love. Not enough credit was given to the band for their step in a more emotional direction. Each of the ballad type songs are well written and you can tell that they needed to come out. The songs Eat You Alive and Lonely World are the best on the album. With Behind Blue Eyes being another excellent cover by the master Fred Durst. limpbizkit hit gold on this recording, give a listen and you will see how truly amazing this album is.
Best Limp album since Starfish...
I'm an LB fan, but I'm not a fanatic. I liked the fact that this album let LB grow beyond "Rollin'", which was an awesome song. I think they needed to mix it up and have some meaningful (e.g. ballad-y) stuff, while keeping it LB. "Eat You Alive" is easily the best hardcore song on here, and as much as "Behind Blue Eyes" is a great remake (come on, Speak and Spell... L-I-M-P, say it), "All That Easy" or "Take It Home" are some of the best LB originals that don't hide behind a guitar riff. It doesn't seem like most people put any thought into their review; they just wanted to simply praise or trash LB/this album. This album is better than that. I'd recommend it to a friend.
