It's here!

New album by SF's bop-math masters. This album is way more complex in texture and eclectic influences. It's a slow, yet way more satisfying, roast.

"Sketches of Sprain" sounds more like it would be on a hip-hop crossover, rather than a math-rock, album. I NEVER would have thought I'd hear electric piano (organ, et.c) let alone saxophone on a We Be album but, there it is on "Superego Relocation Program" and damned if it doesn't sound awesome.

The rest of the album goes from the total mental Chinese finger trap of "Robinson Contraption", to all out super fun arena rock blast of "Fat Man" finally ending on perhaps the most epic and and unexpected song they've done to date- "Night of the Shitehawkes" which somehow manages to successfully meld trance-like reggae with all out fury. Wow!

If you even liked any of their last albums, you will LOVE this one. It's the icing on the cake that these guys totally deliver live. PLEASE COME BACK TO NEW YORK ASAP!!!!

genius

This album is a truly fantastic latest gem from We Be the Echo's collection. Typically intricate, fun, well paced and versatile, it is also slightly more mature and has a touch of nostalgia about it. Something that true fans will no doubt notice. Perhaps the title of the album is meant as an 'echo' of that nostalgia. Apart from being skillfully executed as always, this collection is really for those who appreciate music as an art form, rather than mere entertainment. Each track "reads" as a separate story and engages one's attention fully. Never a dull moment and full of subtleties that only surface after listening the tracks for a few times, this whole album is just so fresh and brilliant.
