Anna Anna Anna...
This will likley be one of my favorite releases of 2011...Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsottir has created something very very special here, it's deep and dark and sometimes cold however the depth of the material and perfomances keep it from disconnecting. I don't know what's happenig in Iceland to have so much amazing music come out ot it...I MUST visit.
This is it!
This was officially my introduction to Icelandic music and if all of it has this ambiance, well then I'm had. It's eery and fantastic and even showcases a soft spot of mine- bass clarinet.
