iTunes Review
Though the unusually temperate weather of December 2006 had many worrying about the consequences of global warming, the unseasonably sunny skies provided the perfect context for the success of Rich Boy’s anthemic “Throw Some D’s”, a track whose mellow synth-laced beat and relaxed cadences evoke celebratory summer barbecues and muggy Alabama afternoons. The Mobile born Rich Boy has been quick to build on the success of “Throw Some D’s”, releasing his glossy, unapologetically joyful debut in the spring of ’07. He possesses a studied, chameleon like flow and is equally capable of delivering his simple but clever lyrics in a countrified drawl, a hardheaded bark, or, perhaps unfortunately, a come hither croon. Despite Rich Boy’s enviable versatility this album truly belongs to veteran Atlanta producer Polow Da Don, who has been perfecting his shimmering, extroverted sound for over a decade now. Whenever Rich Boy’s delivery falters, as on the irritatingly smug “Touch That Ass”, Polow swoops in to save the day with his genre smashing beat wizardry. Polow has made a potentially mediocre album into a smilingly hedonistic exploration of the sounds of summer.

Hip Hop has hit a new low
When an artist with a name like Rich Boy can make it, there cant be anyway you say hip hop is alive.HIP HOP IS DEAD!!!! Throughout the whole album, I can catch about 9 words he is saying. The rest is mumbled and sounds like hes grunting.I cant take it!This is awful! I had I hopes for '07 and Rich Boy just took them all from me.The only positive thing I can say is that Boy Looka Here has a catchy beat. But what kinda name is that for a song?Just looking at the track names I can tell you nothing seems new or different. The same recycled lines over and over, rapping about girls, cars, money, bling, dancing, being gangsta and things like that is all this album will have to offer.Horrible.It saddens me to see an artist like this have a hit single. We are due for a change. The industry has taken a whole culture, shaped it how they think it should be, and sold it right back to us.I cant take this.Somethings has to change.I just cant take this any more.If u cop this, just know u just put in another nail for hip hops coffing. All in all, the industry=the ultimate Huslter.Ever.
Actually, a pretty good album!
I thought this CD, was just going to be another 1(or 2)-hit wonder CD, like Yung Joc, and Unk, and Jim Jones. But he's not just rappin about chains, cars, money, hes also talking about, how a rapper shouldn't be a Role Model. Also he has some good guest appearences like, Andre 3000, The Game, John Legend, Polow da Don, and more. The Best Songs are - Role Models Boy Looka Here Throw Some D's Good Things Get to Poppin' Ghetto Rich Throw Some D's (Remix) I wouldn't recomend this CD for everyone, just the people who don't like completely alternative rap, or old skool rappers making awesome new CD's (Ex: The Roots - Game Theory, and Nas - Hip Hop Is Dead). and the rappers supposedly killing Hip Hop, (Ex: Jim Jones, Young Hot Rod, Unk). Overall it's a good CD.
