Album Review

Richard Marx's self-titled debut album was a finely crafted record of mainstream pop/rock. Marx understood how the melodies of up-tempo rockers like "Don't Mean Nothin'" are driven by thick power chords, and how arrangements are as important as melody in ballads like "Hold On to the Nights." Filled with carefully constructed radio-ready tracks, it was no surprise that the album became a huge hit.

Promises in Vein

It was this record and Carol King's "Tapestry" my mother and I would play and sing to. It molded me to the musician I am today. Though, I play hardcore mostly. Great record. Most of his well-known hits are on here. Will make anyone melt in the heat of the moment.

So 80s so good

Love the sound. Most of these songs hit the radio, but the rest are also good. Brings back memories from youth and the original I had on cassette tape...

Awesome!!!

This is one of the best albums of The 80's. Every song on here was good.I use to listen to this all the time driving to school along with Bryan Adams Reckless. Music was good back then, not so much now days.
