Same performing style as Decca, different recording style

The sound quality improves a lot in this recording, which amazes a lot to me. Because this is just a live recording tape while Decca recording is a studio recording tape. In this recording, the "noisy" part was recorded very well. But this recording has a big problem, the microphones was put too close to the orchestra. Especially the brass part. The trumpet seems too close to the microphone.
Though I'm sure that this recording was made before or after that phase 4 recording was made, and the arrangement of the orchestra is the same as that recording, the microphones are not the same. I feel they used fewer microphones than they used in the phase 4 stereo recording. It still keeps the details, but it cannot build the same atmosphere in the phase 4 recording. The strings were so weak, not as strong as them in the phase 4 recording. The brass seems just has 2 players playing, only one trumpet and one trombone. Maybe they changed the place. I feel the room became smaller.
The performance was really great as Stokowski always did. But if you are not a stokowski fan, this recording is not worth buying.
