I listen to a lot of music, but I only get really excited by a new musical discovery maybe once every two or three years. Buke and Gass is it. It doesn't sound like anything else. It's blunt and sharp, strong and pretty, big and intimate, heavy and light. It's great! If you don't like this, I don't think I want to be friends anymore.

This album is incredible. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of many highs and lows. I love how the dissonance and tension create a minor mood, but then a pounding 4 on the floor rhythm comes in and makes you happy to be alive. I first heard these guys on radiolab and was hooked from the get go. The female vocals are amazing. They sound great. This might not be everybody's cup of tea, but if you like your music outside of the machine, it's delicious.

Buke & Gass? What a name for a band. And what a music! Never heard anything quite like this. Thank God for NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
