New name, bigger sound
I'm not sure why DGH under went the name change but I am sure this is his best album yet. Bigger sound, backed by the full band. I can't wait for the upcoming tour so I can see them live.
Beautiful mope rock
It sounds like remembered heartbreak feels. Snatches of remembered arguments and love letters are lofted on a beautifully wrought swirl of overdubbed guitars. The bass and drum rhythm section establishes a moody and patient tone with surprising delicacy. This is the sixth? album from dgh, and the production level is impressive. They've avoided the studio temptation of overblown production, but have clearly managed to craft a fully realized album. Buy it. It's a reminder of why we all fell in love with music (and girls, cars, literature, etc) in the first place.
Simply Amazing
Easily one of the top ten records of 2010. I guarantee it'll pop up on countless 'best of' lists. Check "Estrella" to have your mind blown open.
