Deliverance's worst.

I've been a Deliverance fan ever since Stay of Execution came out. I am a huge fan of both their old and new material, but Jimmy Brown put out some garbage in his band's middle years. River Disturbance and Camelot in Smithereens rival each other for worst Deliverance album. I bought them both on cassette several years ago and didn't like them enough to listen to them more than once. However I am very glad to see it on iTunes because I'd like to hear it again and give it another shot.

KARUNCH!!!

There is this, this, thing...in metal. It's a groove, a chunk of groove that hits you just so, like the buildup to that opening riff in Enter Sandman (Metallica), or Walk (Pantera), that makes you move, no matter how many times you hear it. It just remains that for a moment, the tempo, the pound, the onslaught of the wrecking ball into your senses makes it impossible to just sit unresponsive. Like if you don't jump on this train by pounding out a rhythm on the steering wheel or tapping your heel into the concrete that your spleen will rupture from the internal pressure to just ROCK. Add Belltown to the list of riffs that have that effect. Now enjoy.

Not metal. But still good.

You know...it's kind of funny how one of the reviewers compares this album to some other metal bands....what's funny about that? Well, this album isn't really metal. This is Deliverance's trip into the modern rock (of that era) zone. This is for the most part a laid back rock album...very slow in some places but kicks it up slightly in others. Make no mistake...it's a great album...it shows the bands diversity. It's just not a metal album.

Formed: 1987 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s

Los Angeles' Deliverance is a Christian (or white) metal band, and not to be confused with their far more sinful U.K. namesakes. Founded in the late '80s by vocalist, guitarist, and de facto main man Jimmy Brown II, the group has featured over a dozen short-term musicians (perhaps most notably Mortification guitarist George Ochoa) and undergone occasional changes in creative direction over the course of a quite prolific recording pace. Early albums like 1989's eponymous debut, 1990's Weapons of Our...
