CD of the Decade (so far)
Hi There! All I can say is I really love this CD, River to the Sea by Simon Apple. I can't stop listening to it and I'm constantly trying to get anyone I know to listen to it. This CD will be greatly appreciated by fans of contemporary hitmakers like Switchfoot and even Steven Curtis Chapman. But it will also be enjoyed by anyone who loves classic bands like the Beatles, Genesis, Rush, Supertramp and Steely Dan. The list of guest stars performing on the CD are very impressive, but what's really outstanding here is the strong musicianship and talented & diverse songwriting. The top-notch production values don't hurt either. If you have to buy one CD this year, buy two or three of this one and share it around as gifts. It's really great! I'm 41 and even my 12 and 10 year old sons can't get enough of it.
River to the Sea Review
Great effort from these guys. I've followed the band for many years now (more years than they've been called Simon Apple, in fact!), and they've gone from being a great "cover band" to a great "originals" band. The addition of Dan Merrill completes the picture, as Jeff and Buzz have put together a great effort. I miss hearing Buzz sing more leads, but Dan's terrific and I love listening. My favorites on this are "Katherine" and "A Lot Of Hope", although the whole CD is terrific. Buy it and you won't be disappointed!
True artists
I grew up listening to these people. And every time i hear them they get better and better. Simon Apple is a band made up of the most talented people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They are amazing!
