Word's Can't Describe It
From start to finish this is an excellent album-you can hear the different groups incorperated into each song- like killswitch engage and machine head in "the dagger", and much more. The one track though that really stood out was "army of the sun" where the guy from bloodsimple i think sings the song. I really liked the vocal for that one to the point where it made me check out bloodsimple rather than download one song from them. All in all, great album from start to finsh especially if you like lamb of god or trivium-esque metal
great collaboration
looking at this album as a whole, Rob Flynns tracks really stand out and a couple of Dinos really shine my five favs off this album The End (no duh) (Matt and Dino) Army of the Sun (Rob) No Mas Control (Dino) The Rich Man (Rob) Baptized in the Redemption (Dino) I do wish that they had done something more with Mikael Akerfeldt tho instead of the short lived interlude Roads but overall this has a little something for every metalhead (even some for hardcore punk fans like I Don't Wanna Be A Superhero and No Way Out)
Awesome awesome awesome.
I don't care what anyone says, this record is unbelievably kickass. It has been in my rotation pretty much since it's been released. There is a great mix of artists on here, from the newer ones to the established legends. I was truly surprised to see how well this turned out -- it exceeded my expectations, and then some. The team captains are the ones to thank. All of them really did their jobs and put together the best roster possible on each and every track. Being a big fan of his, I might be partially biased to Joey Jordison, but I truly believe the tracks written by him (Annihilation by the Hands of God, Tired N Lonely, No Way Out, Constitution Down, Enemy of the State) are the best of the album. Annihilation is especially great, because it also includes Glen Benton of Deicide. No Way Out, which features Daryl Palumbo (Head Automatica, ex-Glassjaw) on vocals, was a surprise to me since I really don't care for that type of music, or his voice. But it's very well-written, and is throughly enjoyable. Enemy of the State is extraordinary; it has a very romantic yet eery sound to it. There definitely isn't a better track than this one to cap it all off. In the Fire, with King Diamond, is also a favorite, as is The End (very catchy, I have to admit it), Army of the Sun, The Enemy, and No Mas Control. The only low points (and even then, they're not that low) are probably The Rich Man (disappointing somehow; I expected so much more from Corey Taylor and Robb Flynn together), The Dagger (starts off the cd a little slow in my opinion; maybe I could enjoy it more if it wasn't track 1), and I Don't Wanna Be A Superhero, which is so disgusting I don't even consider a 'low point' -- to me, it's not even on the cd PERIOD. Overall, a classic, and I think it's very fitting for the 25th anniversary. I just don't know what they're going to do for the 50th anniversary.
