Customer Reviews

12 & 1/3 minutes of pure AWESOME!

In all my years of iTunesing, I've never felt the need to write a review until now. I've been a fan of Michael Giacchino for some time now, and his killer music like this piece is why. Since Cloverfield first opened, fans have been begging for ROAR!'s release, and iTunes has finally heard our cry, so for that I thank them. Michael's overture is a real treat; it's a wonderful nod to the monster movies that came before and yet a refreshing work in its own right. Simply incredible! Also, note that this track is about 2 minutes longer than the film's end credits—this unedited version is a more well-balanced piece, an even better listen than what we had in theaters. What else can I say? If you like good film music, buy this track!

A great tribute.

Michael Giacchino does not fail to compose a powerful, memorable theme to a movie with no written score. "Roar!" is definitely a tribute to all monster films that have come before Cloverfield. For example, you can hear the similarities between "Roar!" and the Godzilla and Mothra themes. At a 12:17 running time, there is lots of music to enjoy. They really nailed it with this one. I will be listening to this track for a long time.

$2.00 worth of pure ear sex.

Well, someone told me to stay during the credits for a nice little secret. When that secret came, I was let down, however, what kept me there in my seat was Mike's amazingly awesome Roar! Very Godzilla esq, but still has its own. This new version is about 200% times better then the theater version. The new stuff is great! The pounding drums, and the fast paced clovie theme work very well togeather. Is it worth the 2 bucks? Heck yes. Buy it. Its been a long time coming, thanks Michael Giacchino!
