Customer Reviews
Great upbeat song! Excellent single!!!!
Glad to have this single released here in the US relatively close to when it came out overseas!!! Great music from a great artist!!!! Must have!
Stop This Train...
Finally, the rocker side of Mel C is back! It's a breath of fresh air having her back, with all the auto tune and electronic music that all sounds the same out there. Mel has always been underrated, and people still think of her as just a Spice Girl. To me, she is no longer Sporty, and she has not been for a long time (well, besides the brief return in 07/08). I think she has far surpassed her girl band days and really deserves more recognition than she gets.
Venting aside...
While I do love Rock Me, Stop This Train is definitely the better song here. It should have been the single, and definitely feels more like a Melanie C track. I anticpate having it on repeat for the next few weeks!
Can't wait for her new album The Sea this fall!
Cosistent Worthy
Melanie has been able to dabble in different genres ever since her first release in 1998 with Bryan Adams. She has done punk "Going Down"/"Gaga", life-changing ballads "Northern Star"/"Melt"/"First Day of My Life"/"The Moment You Believe", pop-rock "Next Best Superstar", r&b "Never Be The Same Again" with Lisa Left Eye Lopez, techno "I Turn To You" and now her latest dance tracks "Rock Me" and "Think About It". She has the ability to stand behind her work, both as the head of her own record label, Red Girl Records, and the solo performer unleashed post-Spice Girls mania.
Melanie has a realiable voice, powerful songwriting skills, and an inate control of being trendy without the hype and fame nonsense. She is an independent artist at its best who cannot be criticized for being outdated.
The tracks off her newest album "The Sea" are proof that Melanie will consistently be making great music for longer than her contemporaries and those who came after that.
