iTunes Review
The Ramones made their deepest mark to date with Rocket to Russia, their third album (and second of 1977). Not only was the album a huge fan favorite, it managed several minor hits on the Billboard singles chart with "Sheena is a Punk Rocker," "Rockaway Beach" and a remake of the '50s classic "Do You Wanna Dance." The sound was their cleanest yet, but tracks like "Cretin Hop," "Teenage Lobotomy," and "We're a Happy Family" were hardly less aggressive or hilariously cutting. Again packing 14 songs into barely more than 30 minutes, the band was at a height of concision and imagination. This expanded edition contains five bonus tracks, including the lost song "Slug" and early and demo versions of "I Don't Care," "Needles and Pins," and "It's a Long Way Back."

The Ramones Mastrepiece. And why the sex pistols have f***** up punk
This album, recorded at their cretive peak captures many highpoints for ramones fans.\ cretin hop, rockaway beach, teenage lobotomy are highlights. but what really stood out was Sheena Is a Punk Rocker. This song was the ramones greatest hit, it reached 75 on the US Billboards and was gradually moving up. however, at sheena-ecstasy, a new band arrived. the sex pistols. not to say that the pistols aren't a great band, but they destoryed any hope for the clash, ramones and other bands to have radio play. the sex pistols were an over statement, they bled, spat, swore, boozed etc. and punk bands were steriotyped for being the band the sex pistols are. extreme sex pistols fans will disagree, but the ramones may have been, the band that would dictate other punk bands for years to come.
One of the top 4 Early Punk albums.
This did it for me. This showed me The Ramones were the greatest Punk band ever. Its more clean than previous albums but never lets go on energy and attack. It contains "Teenage Lobotomy", "Were a happy family", and "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" the three greatest Ramones songs Ever, and always suprises you with every song. There is even a ballad which is great("Here today gone Tomorrw"). This "Ramones", "Never mind the bollocks" and "The Clash" are the greatest 70's Punk albums ever. This is The Ramones at the highest Peak they would ever get to, and is required to anyone interested in Punk. New York Punk at its best.
yes...
