Fantastic band

I saw these guys two nights ago, man, what a show! I can't stop listening to this record, just amazing band overall. Highly reccomrnd.

Great Pop Punk.

Saw these guys open for Real Estate (another great up and coming band) in San Francisco a few weeks ago - they were very, very good live, and I sought out one of their albums immediately after the show. I'm glad I did; they fit in that perfect, accessible niche of punk - catchy as hell, heavy on the reverb and distortion soaked guitar, and vocals with attitude. From song to song, they can sound like The Pixies at their Doolittle best, with angular guitar lines over major key melodies, or almost The Cure/Cars like, at once ambient and synth heavy. "Misery" is the love child of Jets to Brazil and The Dandy Warhols, “Sad Girls” interplays Elvis Costello vocals over a jaunty ballad, and "Minor Keys" is like a blast from The Smashing Pumpkins best time.

Big Troubles is tight and cohesive, dynamic and exciting. Romantic Comedy is short and punchy, not overstaying it’s welcome and causing you to wonder, what next?

It’s a great album from a band that should, and hopefully will, be bigger than they are right now.

Big Troubles were formed by Alex Craig and Ian Drennan, two friends from Ridgewood, New Jersey who attended high school together. The two shared enthusiasm for the likes of Teenage Fanclub, My Bloody Valentine, Sugar, the Cleaners from Venus, and Let's Active,...
