Roots Satisfaction by Laga Savea
Introducing the “Pride Of Nanakuli’s Musical Youth,” Laga Savea… Laga Savea, currently 22 years old from Nanakuli, Hawaii starting playing music when he was 7 years old in a family style band called the “Backyard Band.” Blessed with the natural ability to play almost every instrument, Laga Savea has a special gift and a self taught connection towards playing and composing music. Influenced by many different genres of music including inspirational, jazz, reggae, R&B, classical, and Hawaiian Island; Laga starting developing his own unique flavor in creating, performing and recording music. As the drummer for the group “Hot Rain,” Laga starting composing music at an early age early in life. His musical influences include Brian McKnight, Beres Hammond, Lucky Dube, Lukie D, Smokey Norful, J. Moss and Fiji. In 2006, Laga’s first big break came when he wrote, recorded and performed the track, “Take Me Away,” which was featured on the Coconut Island Compilation CD produced by Fiji. Out of the box, this song quickly began a number #1 hit in the state of Hawaii and was the signature song for selling the compilation CD itself; thus giving Laga Savea musical notoriety and success. As the nephew to the World renowned Sumo wrestler, Konishiki, Laga went to Japan in early 2007 to record his first solo CD project, “Roots Satisfaction.” Working with the double platinum Japanese recording artist Shen from Def Tech, Laga co-wrote his next big hit to reach the Hawaiian Islands, “Wanna Get To Know Ya.” This song is currently being played on heavy rotation on every Hawaiian island radio station in the state. You can also find Laga Savea’s Music on the World Cruise Sound Compilation CD, “Jawaiian Cruise” H-Pop Volume I,” which was marketed and distributed in Japan. This CD featured premiere Hawaiian Island recording artists such as Ekolu, B.E.T., Kawao, Darrell Labrado and the Manao Company . Having performed with many great Island and Reggae recording artists such as Maxi Priest, Yellow Man, Don Carlos, Arrested Development and Fiji you will be hearing a lot more from this very talented and humble young man from Nanakuli, Hawaii, Mr. Laga Savea.
