Album Review
Think "Sweden," and images of herring, crisp breads, Vikings, and Dolph Lundgren immediately come to mind. Well, to some, at least. But what about death metal? The genre has long thrived in Sweden, and continues to spawn extreme metallists — case in point, Coldworker. Their 2008 release, Rotting Paradise, sees the quintet following the same musical path the group began forging with its 2006 debut, The Contaminated Void, which is absolutely loaded with growling, tricky time signatures, and nonstop guitar riffing. Not a lot of stylistic surprises here, but that's the whole point of Coldworker — sticking close to the death metal template — which they certainly succeed at on tracks such as "Citizens of the Cyclopean Maze," "The Black Dog Syndrome," and "The Last Bitter Twist." Rotting Paradise is sure to appeal to admirers of straight-ahead, slamming death metal.

[Speechless]
This is an amazing piece of art. It is beautiful, crafted perfectly, and still remains dark. The first song isn't very good, but tracks 2-5 are all good. Track 6, Paradox Lost, is the best song to hear live, and Seizures probably has the best guitarwork. Tracks 9 and 10 are amazing. Scare Tactics is ok, and Deliverance of the Rejected has one great part towards the end of the song. My favorite song is the Black Dog Syndrome.
Needs More Exposure
Coldworker is an amazing band, and almost unheard of in the death and grind scene. Every song on this album is mindblowing, buy this now!! You won't regret it!

An absolute must have, this album superb throughout and perfectly done! If you like DM in even the slightest way, you owe it yourself and this band to get this album ASAP! RIP Nasum Long live Coldworker!
