Cool project for a talented songwriter

I'm a little biased since I love Nellie McKay's music. She goes off the beaten path towards a more pop sound (Pasadena Girl), for which I give it 4 stars instead of 5. She may have written it, but it feels forced. The other tracks are wonderful, with her back and forth sing along with Taj Mahal (Baby you've got what it takes), and the sad and haunting Face of a Faith. Buy her whole catalog, you will not be disappointed.

Great Music from Literally One of the Worst Movies Ever Made

I love Nellie, and Face of a Faith is a masterpiece. But this was a stunningly bad film: skip the film and buy all Nellie music you can find.

everything's just so lovely

the music is lovely and the movie is absolutely amazing. that movie is my life! not that all that has happened to me, but it the way they show pasadena is amazing. it's exactly like the movie. everyone there talks.
