The influencing continues
Here's a guy that has influenced some of the worlds greatest rock legends and still manages to stay under the music radar and do his own thing for so many years. Check out "Would You Go MY Way" for classic Van Wilks riffage and tone, and "The Eleventh Hour" for something different, but still well within in a style that he defined and does so very well. These are songs you can play 100 times and still find something new and cool at each turn. Don't pass this one by.
Everything Texas
I met Van in Austin last week, he was playing at a conference. I watched a master use all the tools of his trade to make a guitar sing like an orchestra. Walking around Austin late at night and listening to the sounds of 6th street, Van will be everything Texas to me. For those about to Rock we Salute you.
Surprisingly good
I had never heard of this artist until a friend recommended him. Very impressive. Makes you wonder how a guy like this could not be a household name when he fits so well into the rock genre.
