iTunes Review

No one can say that Bizzy Bone’s estrangement from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony slowed his creativity; he has continued to release music at a blinding pace, with Ruthless clocking in as his 14th solo album since 2004. At that rate, quality control becomes an afterthought, but Bizzy is the rare artist who benefits from spilling his guts in extemporaneous expression. The only way to really get to know Bizzy as an artist to contact his fractured psyche, and Ruthless succeeds in showcasing his unpredictable mindset. It bounces from ominous prophecies (“It’s 19 99”) to weed anthems (“Get High”), and from aggravated stand-offs (“F**k Da World”) to sexy smooth ladies’ songs (“4 Da Ladies”). Though the production is rather lo-fi, and it lacks the cohesion of Bone’s classic albums, almost every song delivers some kind of thrill, whether it’s the blinding vocal acrobatics of “Get Bizzy” or the disarmingly sensitive confessions of “4 Da Ladies.” Ruthless may be messy, but it’s truthful. It’s a rewarding listen — the only challenge is keeping up with Bizzy.

average

this is another... good effort from Bizzy. can't wait for A Song For You someone has it posted as an April 22 release but unless it has changed Wikipedia says it's a March 25 release date, so who knows when it's actually coming out!! in the meantime, get this and Bone Brothers III and it should keep you bizzy for a while (oh yeah, pun intended!)

Tsk Tsk

It's funny how somebody rates the album '1', just because they think the previews only have talking. The previews have the beginning of the songs, which don't all start with talking, he actually raps. So I don't know what album you previewed, but it wasn't this one. My favorite cuts are "Intro (Layzie Dedication), "It's 1999", "Gangsta", "Get Bizzy" & "Hoodtails" is cool as well....I bought those tracks, excluding "Hoodtails". If I can find an actual copy in a record store, I will buy it. If not, I will get it off Amazon or something. Because it is well worth $10 or $14.

BB Gambini

BB Gambini back, this album is straight fire, i mean through like 02-06 he was puttin out some garbage IMO, but from Midwest Cowboy on, he has been makin fire, and i cant wait for a song for you

Best known as a member of the Cleveland crew Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, rapper Bizzy Bone began a prolific, risk-taking, and sometimes baffling solo career in 1998. Combining rapid raps and laid-back singing, his soul-searching debut, Heaven'z Movie, didn't sound entirely unlike a Bone Thugs album, but it was obvious that on his own Bizzy felt free to explore his psyche and to go eccentric places his group just would not. The Gift from 2001 further divided Bone fans, with some seeing his confessional...
