An excellent up and coming band

From their origins in the hills and hippies of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, the Demon Beat bursts through with a raw and powerful album. In a tip of the hat to figures like the Black Keys, The Kings of Leon, and Jack White, this trio pounds out the notes with a force that one doesn't catch too often these days.

Their newest album, Sh*t We're 23, is an affirmation of their growning prowess of pushing down a very primal sort of music that is very appealing on record but even more so in a live venue. The album starts with a heavy "Got You Movin'", and it does just that. It lightens up slightly with the next two tracks "Millionaire" and "Memory Ain't Enough" with more high-flying guitar parts and vocals from Adam Meisterhans. The gruff and sometimes pleading vocal style of Meisterhans compliments the overall old-fashioned rock and blues that jumps from the speakers, as in "Crawl" and "This Is No Fun". The album rounds itself out with "Bad Man", their most popular live song by far. Its simplicity is refreshing, with a dark theme of a seedy character shuffling about a small town. Beyond that, it's a song with force behind it that gets audiences jumping about, just don't tell pa.

These three are a true force to be reckoned with when it comes to showmanship and energy on stage. So young and talented, they are a band to keep your eyes on for the future as they are sure to keep pumping out incredible artifacts with the sound of rock and the soul of the blues.

Righteous dudes

I love these boys and you should see them live before you die.

Adam, Tucker, and Jordan know the true meaning of rock and roll and they want to share it with you.

Ps: shepherdstown loves you
