iTunes Review

A longtime affiliate of Tech N9ne, Kansas City's Krizz Kaliko is one of those guys who is considered huge amongst his fans, but relatively unknown by the rest of the world. Over the course of several albums (Vitiligo, Genius, and Shock Treatment), he has established himself as one of the more unique voices in hip-hop; extreme and bugged-out, but with an ample dose of humor to temper his outrageousness. S.I.C. is short but sweet, a six-track EP that bubbles with freaky, synth-centric beats and Kaliko's wily, unpredictable flow. "Rain Dance" is the closest thing to a club hit here, while the frantic "Animal" showcases his crazy triple-speed rhymes with a wild, chanted hook. Tech N9ne appears on the guitar-laced anthem "Medicine" as well as "Down," a carnival-style, tempo-shifting jam that would sound right at home on an Insane Clown Posse album. To be sure, this is not “traditional” hip-hop, but for diehard fans of that overtly crazy Midwestern steez, this is just about perfect.
