Sacred Heart (Sacred Heart)

The best band you've probably never heard of...

     

Let me start off by saying that this album is phenominal. If all you're looking for is a verdict, there it is in a nutshell.

The first song I heard by them (one which isn't even on the album) was "Love to Hate" and I was instantly hooked. I couldn't find anywhere in my area or online to buy a physical copy of their album, so I had to settle for a digital copy. Over a year later I still regularly listen to it because it's just that good, and I'm STILL looking to buy a physical copy of the CD as well because I'd really like to own it.

The guitars are raw and crunchy, the vocals have great emotion behind them, and the breakdowns are some of my all-time favorites. Their sound comes together so well and their energy doesn't let you take your attention off them. This album can be eerie and brutal, yet still slick enough to please everyone who I've had listen to it. I even liked it so much that I took the breakdown from Heart Lies and used it as my ringtone (nothing turns more heads than hearing "SO **** YOU!" blare from my pocket when I get a call).

The bottom line is that Hewitt needs more exposure and more credit for the job they did on Sacred Heart. I don't know how well-known they are in their home Country of France, but they're terribly underappreciated in the U.S. and I would hate to see them fall apart due to poor sales. Please, buy this album and support these guys, as I'm sure you'd love to hear more from them once you listen to this album too.
