Artist to watch!
Melina Gerges is one of a kind. She’s a classically trained opera singer, who has spent some time singing in the Italian opera houses. She’s also a pop singer with an album due out this summer. She blends her classical training with her pop songs easily. After listening to a few samples from her upcoming release Salam, I can only give her two thumbs up. I'd give her a few more if I had any extra hands.
The first single is the title track “Salam” and it will remind a lot of listeners of Sarah Brightman, only with less arias and more pop, which makes her much more accessible to the masses. Her songs are classy, sophisticated, while still remaining fun. She makes music to chillax to. Oh and did I mention its not pretentious.
The songs invoke smiles. Maybe its because Melina's smile on the album cover is so infectious. Perhaps its spread to her music. Whatever the case is, after listening you'll feel a little bit happier. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of Salam!
