Mesmerizing Soundscapes of New Mexico

     

New Age, Ambient artist Sue Esserwein creates a cohesive connection between America’s New Mexican landscapes and an individual’s spiritual inner being with her newest cd release, Sandia Dreams. Each scene musically appears before the listener’s eyes as the ears take in the information of the breathtaking live sculptures of the mesas, mountains and rock formations. The journey begins in Taos at dusk. An orchestra of rhythmic drumming, bird calls, and Native American flute invite the listener to relax and breathe deeply while reveling in the natural heartbeat of the land. While releasing the day’s tension the physical body delves deeper, now in a meditative state, and the soft thunder of “Chiminea Prayer Smoke” enters the conscious mind to begin clearing out a host of stressors. With each consecutive arrangement, thunderstorms, rains, and rolling rivers reverberate against canyon walls providing a relaxing backdrop to Sue Esserwein’s inspired musical odyssey. The overall mood evoked here is one of mystery, depth, the Presence in the land, and its creatures. Everything is connected, inspiring the listener to become part of the landscape as well and to experience the great mysteries of the ages. Soar like a hawk; fly like an eagle.
