Fantastic Mix of style and influence

It's a sunny day, you're on your way to pick up your favorite girl, and you selected this EP for the 10 minute drive to her place...you couldn't have made a better selection (just don't forget to start it over as she gets in the car!)

While "Seven" is brilliant in musicianship and songwriting and will most likely be the favorite for many, "Wreckin' Ball" with it's southern Baptist Revival drum beat and tambourine driving the sound makes for the best listen in my opinion.

This album has a very folk feel in the sense that it is driven largely by the guitar, lyrics, and vocals of Mr. Kamas, all of which are SUPERB! I love the various percussion in the background, gentle claps, bells, triangles, etc...

Santa Elena is the sleeping giant here, it may be my favorite song in 8 months...let ya know!

Eagerly awaiting the LP Mr. Kamas!

Amazing EP

I have been listening to Santa Elena for over a week now and can't get enough of it. It's got everything you could want in great music. Heartfelt lyrics, amazing guitar work, soulful and folksy beats, and Dan has a serious set of pipes that can belt out his songs.

This is the type of album, albeit only 4 songs, that will make you change your mind weekly about which one is your favorite. Right now I would probably go with "seven" but "Santa Elena" is maling a strong push to take over.

If you debating over whether or not to buy this, stop, just buy it already, you wont regret it!

Great Song, Great Video!

We just watched the video for Golden Hour, and we loved it. I especially liked the lyrics in the earlier verses. I think Daniel really captures the strangeness of loss; the oddity as the rest of the world goes on around you normally but you do not feel like the world is normal. I thought the song was very beautiful lyrically, and I also loved the instrumentation. The Shakers and chimes in lieu of traditional percussion lend a very different and cool feel to the song. The video is masterful. The story is told creatively, and the story unfolds visually in perfect sync with the lyrics of the song. Very impressed.
