Album Review

As an alternative/hard rock band, the defining point of one's career is signing to a major label. With that said, it makes it all the more surprising that just as Lifer had begun to create a buzz on mainstream radio, guitarist Aaron Fink and bassist Mark James Klepaski quit in order to join Breaking Benjamin. Whether they saw something special in this independent band or were just sick of their former band's career decisions is unknown, but Breaking Benjamin went on to sign to Hollywood Records, and Saturate has serious potential to become one of 2002's most successful debuts, as although it is repetitive and generic, it is undeniably addictive. Molding hard rock in the vein of Nickelback with the more aggressive side of Korn, Saturate is accessible and slightly heavier than much music suitable for excessive radio play, yet allows the listener to identify with the themes present on the disc. Breaking Benjamin still follows the formulaic pattern of most every hard rock group since the mid-'90s — the music is hard to resist. The only noticeable dilemma apparent here is that the album drags once it hits "Next to Nothing" and never quite picks back up. Those who enjoyed Lifer certainly should like the rock offered here, and this album should fit in well with other modern rock releases of the here today/gone tomorrow variety. ~ Jason D. Their best album.

The reason why blow me away is not on here is cuz iTunes is f***** up. Part of the song is owned by bungie and the other breaking benjamin. They split the profit. But if they added iTunes to split. It would be split it more. If they sold the song for 1.00. iTunes would get .33. Bungie would get .33. And breaking Benjamin would .33 cent for every song they sold. See how H0mo it is.

still the best

the new album dear agony was pretty boring to say the least. saturate and we are not alone are still the best ones, and even phobia has some great tracks. here's a song by song review of the best BB album:

wish I may- 3/5- ok intro, dont really like the chorus

medicate- 5/5 awesome!!! i dont know why people dont like this song. its my favorite on the cd. it starts out with some heavy guitar, then goes into a sort of middle eastern sounding thing, and then the chorus is more heavy guitar. it may be kinda weird, but its still my favorite on the disc.

polyamorous- 5/5 my favorite after medicate.

skin- 4/5 very catchy

natural life- 4/5 this song has a really awesome intro, and the rest of it is good too.

next to nothing- 5/5 another one of my favorites.

water- 4/5 very heavy, great chorus, but kind of odd vocals

home-4/5 this song is about the wizard of oz. its a very cool song and definitely breaking benjamin's style.

phase- 5/5 my favorite after medicate, polyamorous and shallow bay. i like how it starts with the drums, then has shakers and other percussion, then bass, and then guitar leading into an awesome heavy song with great lyrics.

no games- 5/5 an underrated song, very good vocals, and pretty cool guitar part. the intro is my favorite part.

sugarcoat- 5/5 favorite after medicate, polyamorous, shallow bay, phase and next to nothing (so my 6th favorite, but it is still awesome!). very very heavy in the chorus, plenty of screaming and the intro is also heavy. however the rest is very quiet and controlled, but the trasition between these moods is waht makes the song amazing. my favorite part is the guitar solo, it's really cool.

shallow bay- 5/5 awesome chorus

forever- 5/5 its supposed to be part of shallow bay and i really like it so same rating.

buy this album people. you wont be sorry you did
