Passion at work here
The tune "Stop" contains the same lyrics and basic melody as Madonna's "Don't Tell Me," on which Joe is credited as co-writer. "Don't Tell Me" is on the album "Music," released in 2000. Although Joe's album was released in 2001, "Stop" was written first, and then became the impetus for "Don't Tell Me." Looks like I'll be listening to more of Joe Henry. Not that it matters in terms of the song, but Madonna is Joe's sister-in-law.

First Jo Henry album I ever got, and it was an excellent choice. Beautiful and passionate indeed. It's a great album for first time listeners of his work.
