Customer Reviews

I love his work !!!

I have been a die hard and serious Jim Emmons fan since the early 1990's and I have his amazing unrelased material and with all this new music here on i-tunes all I can say is its a music fest to go GAGA over !!! Jim puts so much passion into his song writing and when you listen to each and every song all you can do is appreciate the talent he brings forth for his fans. Keep an eye out for Jim I see Grammy's in his future.

Review from CD Baby

"Scorpio" (2007), the 2nd full length album from indie-pop singer/songwriter Jim Emmons, continues to explore his 80's pop/rock/dance roots and proves that his talent and style have evolved and grown tremendously since his debut album "The Only One" (2005). "Scorpio" shows strong influences from 80's icons such as George Michael and Prince as well as more modern adult contemporary artists like Rufus Wainwright and k.d. lang. As with his debut album, "Scorpio" was fully produced, written, and performed in a one-man-band style with Jim playing all the instruments and singing all the parts himself. The songs on this album create a diverse and complex playground of ideas and statements ranging from the serious ("The Seed of Love", "God's Children") to the sensual ("Exciting", "Just To Be With You") to the sexy("I Am You", "Fantasize") and even to the sincere ("I Never Stopped Loving You", "Hello To Me"). Creatively speaking, Jim likes to challenge himself to take the next step in order to keep growing, evolving, and yet still be entertaining and enlightening. The songs on "Scorpio" represent strength, growth, knowledge, and understanding from Jim's own personal perspective and it's translated through his music and melody into this wonderful compilation.
