Great interpretations
I have heard many recordings of these rags, and this album takes the cake. The piano is very mellow, and Alessandra is very gentle with rough lycs and does not overexaggerate, especially in the more upbeat and energetic rags (e.g. The Entertainer, Maple Leaf Rag, Sugar Cane). Rubato is used where appropriate, along with dynamic alterations from the sheet music I own (both which I have encorporated into my playing because they're such great interpretations!). All of these tracks are very easy to listen to, and work great as background music at work, while reading a book, or even for naps. I would recommend this album to anyone who loves easy listening and/or Scott Joplin.
