Album Review
With Scumdogs of the Universe, Gwar gave its followers exactly what they wanted: brutally aggressive guitars, abrasive vocals and gross, perverted lyrics. As twisted as songs like "Maggots," "Vlad the Impaler," and "Slaughterama" are, Gwar is never genuinely scary, but rather humorous and goofy. One of the most amusing tracks is the opener, "The Salaminizer," which finds thrash's equivalent of Spinal Tap doing a takeoff on N.W.A's gangsta rap anthem "Gangsta Gangsta." The whole thing is very tongue-in-cheek, and in fact, Gwar never intended to be anything more than a parody of thrash and death metal. But ironically, some headbangers actually took it seriously and exalted Oderous & Co. as the ultimate thrash band. Outrageously entertaining, Scumdogs is Gwar's crowning achievement.

If ur a real gwar fan You HAVE to buy this album
Suprisingly Classic '90s Metal
I find it hard to believe that this album has only 2 reviews, and they're not even 5 stars at that. HEY LISTEN UP.....If you were a true metal fan that was in HS in the late 80s-early 90s, you should have had THIS ALBUM!!!! Scumdogs rocks!!! I still jam to this frequently and know all the words to every song... even after 20 years. These songs are classic, hilarious, and hard rock at its best! They are no Metallica for sure, but this album is very enjoyable as long as you dont take these guys seriously. Just listen to the lyrics, and you will be laughing your butt off and banging your head while your doing it!!! This album really is incredibly awesome!!! If you were even the slightest bit interested in GWAR, Scumdogs of the Universe is the album the get. I love every song!!! I'm jamming to it right now while I write this... LOL... The Sexecutioner has me cracking up!!!!! Hail Oderus!!!!!
