Self-Determination

Listening to Truth Universal is refreshing, especially during this period when it's rare to find an artist who is actually saying something. His music is layered, educational and entertaining. It's like a history lesson, political education session and it offers insight into the life and times of a hip-hop head striving to share his musical musings with the world.This guy is someone who has been slept on for far too long. His music is in the tradition of righteousness -- Poor Righteous Teachers, Rakim, Lords of the Underground, Arrested Development, Public Enemy.

Great album!

Truth Universal has a great traditional hip hop sound and always spits words of wisdom. Production on this album is awesome to say the least, beatmakers include Panik, S1, Nick da 1 da, Natural Born, Bass Heavy, Gensu Dean, and more. He also has guest appearances by Cee Know the Doodlebug, Wise Intelligent, and Stic Man. Content is very relevant, especially for today's political climate.

True essence of hip hop, example of the true talent from the south

Truth Universal is a perfect example of what a southern emcee should be. The whole album is well produced and Truth is great throughout it. Must have for hip hop fans.

Originally born in Diego Martin, Trinidad, Tajiri Kamau moved to the Big Easy in 1977 at age four. Initially wanting to DJ, he dove head first into hip-hop culture in the mid-‘80s.
