Album Review

Sense Field have been pegged as an emo band, and, to their credit, they avoid most of the clichés that plague other bands in the genre; Sense Field's emotionally resonant songs employ the spare, driving urgency of emo bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, but combine it with the tunefulness of more straightforward power pop bands like the Plimsouls. Musically, Sense Field is fairly conventional — a jangly, textured mix of electric and acoustic guitars washing over mid-tempo beats — but Jonathan Bunch's strident and frequently off-key vocals add the raw, keening tension that makes the "emo" tag appropriate.

Amazing - One of the Best Albums Out there!

I first saw these guys play in Chicago at the Fireside Bowl and they blew my mind. Truly well written songs that these guys really rock out on. I wish half the groups today had the talent and song writing ability these guys did. I would definitely recommend, if nothing less, grabbing the first 5 tracks off this album. This, in my opinion, is the best album from a very amazing band.

Definitely worth it!!!

The first time I heard this album it was on a cassette with no track names or anything. A buddy of mine made a "copy of a copy" of this back in '95 only telling me it was a band called SenseField. Flash foward to just a week ago (yes - just a week ago) and now I got it via Itunes!!!!! (Yes I procrastinate....so what??!!) Definitely worth it.....plus, chicks will totally dig it when you play it in the car during a date....things may happen after that!!! Chillax w/ this.....

Great older material

While this record might not have some of the polish of their later releases, personally, I feel the two previously released ep's on this collection along with their "Killed for Less" lp are their best material. You can hear the hardcore influence here, taking the good points of the sound and mixing it with their own rock. Love it!!!!!!
