Great Songs, Bad Sound Quality
"Sessions" is really well done on Keane's part. The songs sound good, yet have that live spin to it. The song selection is also quite good, although adding "Bend and Break" would have made it even better. But the sound quality is not done very well at all. You'd think that someone could remaster the performance. This EP is really good for you if you're a huge Keane fan. Your money is better spent on the b-sides first. If you like those, this is a good buy.
Sound like mono, but good for hardcore fans
You know you're in trouble when at the very beginning of the first track (Bedshaped) lead singer Tom Chaplin remarks, "This is our last song." Someone at iTunes obviously didn't listen to this to figure out the correct running order of the five tracks that make up this collection. The sound is OK but sounds remarkably like MONO!!! If there is any stereo separation it wasn't apparent on my stereo computer speakers. Other than that, the songs are great and the performances are solid. Chaplin is in strong voice. This is not an official band release, just another iTunes compilation and it should have had more songs, but it is quite acceptable for the hardcore Keane fan. Fans should snap this right up. However, casual listeners will think the songs sound too similar to the album versions to merit paying $4.95 for five songs they already own or have heard. It should also be noted that while the tracks are labeled "live" and the band is indeed playing live, there is no audience. Keane is simply playing the songs in a recording studio. So if you are expecting recognition applause or cheering of any sort, it is not there.
Keane Live......It's Great!
Great Songs if you have listened to them. If you like Coldplay you will love Keane...
