Customer Reviews
Seriously?
His message is still righteous and on point, but damn, the music is sincerely disappointing. I have been digging on matis from day one. Smash lies is borderline offensive, what is this? an attempt at a club track? I can just picture lil jon singing on this track about money, ho's and guns. His voice even sounds forced, I am all for evolving within oneself's own music, but this just comes off as phony. Matis! do not come to the mainstream, do as you have, and let them come to you! So high so low starts off pretty good but ends up sounding like a mundane poprock track (think matchbox 20, or whatever their called.)" 2 child and i will be light are both beautiful songs, escpecially I will be light. Matis just being Matis. The other concern I have is that its been 2 years since his last album, and he has slowed down his touring. I just expected better from him, only 4 tracks that collectively arent that great. Where are the roots to his reggae? Sorry to be so critical, but I am hoping he gets away from whoever is steering him this way. peace
shut up haters!!
all u haters need to shut up. matis is still not mainstream. he is extremely unique. while this EP might not capture listeners like live at stubbs did, it's still a great work. shake off the dust was downright boring at times, but live at stubbs was great even though the two had pretty much the same tracks. who knows what these songs will sound like live? plus the rest of the album could still contain vintage matis. each of matis' albums have been different from the last, and this is no different. the problem is that everyone just wants to hear king w/o a crown or something that sounds just like it. HE HAS MOVED ON!!!! smash lies is amazing, and the other songs are great.
lilfe changing
As a Christian....Matisyahu's music speaks to me more than most contemporary Christian music out there...even the traditional music...we love the some God, and his passion enspires me. I can't wait to see him play soon..
