Rock/Pop Genius!
This is the first review I have ever written, but I could not let this one pass me by without sharing my thoughts on this fantastic album! DF has created an amazing album in "Shine On," full of poignant lyrics, great beats and catchy melodies. The DF boys have done it again and again with some of the most feel good songs like, "Wide Awake," "Do You Want To," "Save the Last Dance," and "When the Sun Shines" that make you wish were driving around town on a beautiful sunny day with the top down! For us children of the 80's, "The Need Machine," "Everybody Needs Somebody," and "Falling Off the Edge" have massive appeal with their cool beats. "Beautiful Girl," "Made Some Friends Along the Way," and "Come Down" have some of the most touching lyrics I have heard in a Pop album this year!
I can't wait to hear the songs live!
Cool Album
I have been a fan of Dexter Freebish for several years now. Its been forever since I've heard from this band. I thought they dissapeared off the face of the planet! After a long hiatus, I gotta say, this has been worth the wait. Great songwriting as usual. My favorites are "Wide Awake" and "Do You Want To". This album sounds more modern and cool than their previous albums. You can hear the keyboard & loop influences, yet they still have great guitar hooks. In fact, the song "Do You Want To", almost has a Rolling Stones quality to it. I like how their sound has evolved over the years. A definite must-buy!

This cd is really an amazing combination of musical melodies and sounds. I feel like putting head phones on and jumping up and down in the middle of my bed. The lyrics are absolutly amazing and soothing. Every song is hitworthy. A huge winner. So glad this band stuck with music. I can't wait to see them live!
