Amazing!
I saw these two open up for Butch walker a few nights back. They were great but it wasn’t until I listened to the album a few times through that I realized how good they really are. Within these ten songs is a world or beautiful poetry, raw imagery and the long lost feeling of the untamed musical west. Mix that with the commanding voices of Cary and Michael and some seriously cool melodies and you have one amazing album. And if you get a chance to see them live then do it. The chemistry between them is not to be missed!

What a fantastic album! When I play this record there's a certain tone recollective of that old country music that's left and gone. It's as if I just dusted it off from the shelf where it's sat all along next to those Nashville greats. However, Cary Ann and Michael's stunning vocals promise to get in your face and make sure that album won't ever collect dust!
Boils and Ghouls
Saw Shovels & Rope on a Monday night in Nashville at The Mercy Lounge-along with 7 other acts. By far, this duo knows what they're doin' and easily stole the show. Shovels & Rope made me feel something...I liked what I heard so much, I stalked them to their Tuesday night show at The Basement. Go see them when they come through your home town. Bottom line, no matter what scene you're into, your ears will thank you for it.
