Since it was controversial country crooner Toby Keith who launched the Nashville label Show Dog, it should come as no surprise that the first song on this comp is a catchy ditty that champions those longneck swilling gals who aren't afraid to brandish their spare tires in public. Trailer Choir's "Rockin' the Beer Gut" is a refreshing take on ogling, where the singer doesn't pine for some bleach-blond buckle-bunny like so many other new country tunes. It also could be one of the first songs that dares to fuse Music City twang with Hollywood punk pop (imagine Big & Rich producing blink-182). The next three cuts come from the self-titled debut of sister trio Carter's Chord. If you're a fan of female-sibling close-harmonies, there's a good chance the festive summer jam "When We Get There" will take your breath away by the first chorus. Mica Roberts starts the last three songs with a sentimental duet featuring a cameo by Toby Keith. "Things a Mama Don't Know" carries the same kind of intense balladry not heard since Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes sang "Up Where We Belong."

Toby's horses
All 3 have a lot of talent. Mica has an unbelievable voice. Carter's Chord harmonizes second to none. And Trailer Choir is just plain fun. If you are a fan of Toby, if you like "different" country music, or if you want to hear something new - this is definetly for you. I have seen all three live multiple times as opening acts for Toby Keith and they all put on a show. This album is definetly worth the money.
gives country a bad name
a song about women with beer guts? pure trash. i love country music and have been a huge fan all my life and this song is about as bad as it gets. country music is finally getting significant recognition and this is degrading. this only supports the "country sterotype" and features country music in a terrible light.... completely disgusting
alright
while all the trailer choir songs do sound a little similar, they are all good, and their songs with carter's chord are both good too. this album is a good purchase but only if you hear the previews and immediatly like what you hear, otherwise you might be a bit dissapointed with the way you just spend your money.
