It didn't take long for the Pumpkins to part ways with their early grunge sound. And when they did, on their second album, the results are disarming. Leader Billy Corgan churns out songs rife with memorable guitar riffs and heavy-rock melodies, many of which ("Cherub Rock," "Rocket," "Today," and, yes, "Disarm") would become soaring alt-radio anthems. Thanks to its rich textures and adventurous arrangements separating it from the grunge pack, Siamese Dream stands toe-to-toe with the best rock albums of the '90s.

A truly great rock album
by Chris the masterMany people think that Mellon Collie and the Infinite Saddness is the album that seperated the pumpkins from the so called "Grunge" group, I think Siamese Dream did that and MCIS put them were no other band could go musicly. Siamese Dream is an absolute wonder of an album, packed with sonic boom to please your ears and heartfelt lyrics.I would strongly recomend it to anyone getting into 90's rock, or just getting into the pumpkins.

Hummer-it shouldnt even be called a song, mor like a phsycadelic journey
Soma- One of Billy Corgan's best solos. The slow to heavy part makes me cringe every time
Mayonaise-possibly one of the prettiest fuzz tones Ive ever heard. Corgans vocals are a hilight in this one
Geek USA-Another reason why jimmy chamberlin is one of the best drummers of the 90's
Cherub Rock- ALL HAIL THE BIG MUFF PEDAL!!!....enough said
Rocket-Soaring fuzzy waves of guitar, inticate melodys and dynamic vocals. The Pumpkins achieve sound greatness

by sowndsurfrGish-Siamese Dream-Gish-Siamese Dream-Gish-Siamese Dream-Gish is still my sentimental favorite. The itunes reviewer doesn't see the similarities between these two equally all time classic "rock" albums(New Yorkers are hardcore, we don't use the word grunge). Mayonaise and Snail are twins of the same parents, starting off low and slow and then EXPLODING into your brain with a mental anguish that can never be matched by any so-called grunge artist, dead or alive!!!
