It didn't take long for the Pumpkins to part ways with their early grunge sound. And when they did, on their second album, the results are disarming. Leader Billy Corgan churns out songs rife with memorable guitar riffs and heavy-rock melodies, many of which ("Cherub Rock," "Rocket," "Today," and, yes, "Disarm") would become soaring alt-radio anthems. Thanks to its rich textures and adventurous arrangements separating it from the grunge pack, Siamese Dream stands toe-to-toe with the best rock albums of the '90s.

ROCKET-PLAY IT LOUD$!$!
by sowndsurfrGish-Siamese Dream-Gish-Siamese Dream-Gish-Siamese Dream-Gish is still my sentimental favorite. The itunes reviewer doesn't see the similarities between these two equally all time classic "rock" albums(New Yorkers are hardcore, we don't use the word grunge). Mayonaise and Snail are twins of the same parents, starting off low and slow and then EXPLODING into your brain with a mental anguish that can never be matched by any so-called grunge artist, dead or alive!!!
One of the Greatest Hard Rock Albums of All-Time

by corn bobMayonaise is one of the best songs I have ever heard ... Its perfect and i dont think i will ever get bored of it and it's the song tht got me listening to smashing pumpkins... which is now my favorite band
