Signs & Epic-ness
A seriously amazing, vast collection of songs. This is a record filled with rock songs beautifully crafted with layers of piano, electronic effects and percussion intermixed. Consider The Thief have created an intense, atmospheric sound here that is very reminiscent of records like Thrice's Vhiesuu, Brand New, Radiohead, Recieiving End of Sirens, Beloved, etc. But don't misunderstand, this band does not try and simply imitate these artists. They pave new ground with the emotion and urgency of their songs and the lyrics are thoughtful and deeply meaningful. Support these guys. Sean, Zack, Jordan, Dryw, Luke: love you guys. Congrats on the release!
Legends in the making...
Signs and Wonders is literally just that. Signs of a band that NEEDS to be recognized and praised, and the Wonders that this album holds. The vocalization and instrumentation of this album are astounding. Some of the best amateur (as in unsigned and not remotely untalented) work I have ever had the opportunity to listen to. The lyrics present carry Biblical references and connotations yet the songs (and the album as a whole) are certainly not only intended for those who walk in faith. This album carries plenty of meaning for all listeners of multiple genres. The range of song structure and execution is wonderful. The melodic and syncopated Signs and Wonders to the heavy/rythmic tones of Joshua demonstrate both the range and pacing of this work. Consider The Thief is Incredible
Every song is musically interesting and not the average cookie cutter songs being put out by most bands today. My favorite songs on the album are Son of Hell and on High mainly because both songs possess great lyrics and successfully demonstrate the talent this band has. I’d give this album an a+ and recommend it to fans of THRICE, LYDIA, THE DEAR HUNTER AND AS CITIES BURN
