amazing
This album has been the soundtrack to my semester. I came across it in someone's random iMix. Normallly I love the instrumentals in folk music but the voices can sometimes ruin the magic of the music. Here it's just beautiful, happy songs. Great driving music too. I've had a few people come over to my apartment when I'm listening to it and say they love it too. Blue Tick and The Adventure are my favorites :)
Finally, this fine music can be heard by all. It's about damn time!
Like the rest of us, you might've realized this is some really fine music, but there's more to it than that, and I want y'all to know the story behind it. I knew from hearing the Van Durham boys in person for years here in Tennessee that these were some fine musicians, but in their 40 years of playing together, they'd never recorded so much as a single note. When a few of us got together and decided to try and get them recorded, nobody knew for sure how they'd take to the studio. I myself felt like they'd do alright. Nobody ever expected this, though. Let me tell you, they knocked this one out of the park. Oh, and one more thing... these clips here don't show it, but for you harmonica lovers, there's plenty of damn fine harp playing all over this album. Take care now, and happy listening! Wayne Doyle
