just happened to see it today
After seeing Homer Hiccolm and the Rocketboys live in Dallas I immediately fell in love with their ambient style and beautiful melodies. The boys from Abilene excel in their newest release, "Sing, Bird, Sing". From the up-tempo opening "Do I Wake or Sleep", to the ten-minute finale "Old Dalhonega" and everything in between, this album provides the sweet catchy melodies that The Rocketboys have come to be known for. Lyrically the album soars with lines such as "I would sell you out in a heartbeat, 'cause you can defend yourself". If you have not heard this sextet yet, this would be a great album to start with.
Great upcoming band
I caught these guys at the South Padre Music Fest. They had a late show at one of the smaller venues, but had a better set than many of the other big names at bigger venues. Great music, great guys, great energy, great show, great album. Good job guys.
The Boys Are Growing Up
I've been a fan of the Rocketboys ever since I heard them play at the Beansprout when I was at ACU. Their first EP was amazing and the same goes for this one. The sound is richer and the music seems more mature this time around. The Rocketboys are growing into their own style and I cannot wait to see see them soar. The sky's the limit Boys.
