Album Review

Finnish metallers Children of Bodom have a career- long history of recording covers. Skeletons in the Closet, a follow-up to 2008's Blooddrunk collects them on a single compilation with a few new ones thrown into the mix. Along with familiar versions of the Ramones ' "Somebody Put Something in My Drink," Slayer's "Silent Scream," Sepultura's "Mass Hypnosis," and Iron Maiden's "Aces High" are lighter tracks that reflect the band's more humorous side. These range from Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Lookin' out My Back Door" (complete with a banjo solo) to Britney Spears' "Oops, I Did It Again" to Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell." No matter the cover, and no matter how intentionally campy some of these are, they all contain the requisite "heaviness" that CoB are known for. In addition, there are a couple of new cuts: versions of Pat Benatar's "Hell Is for Children," and Suicidal Tendencies' "War Inside My Head." Internationally — U.S.A., U.K., and Japan — there are three different versions of the set, all with slightly different track listings.

Finally!!!!

I've heard most of these songs as b-sides and whatnot to previous singles and am glad that they all can be found on one disc! If CoB would have never had good originals, they could have been a sweet a*s cover band. It's good to see Alexi and the guys paying homage to their influences. No one else has ever done a Ramones song like this before! Also note that this album has covers of songs by artists that no one else will touch. Maiden? Slayer? Andrew WK? Scorpions? It even makes some of the originals pale in comparison. I hate poison but love this version of Talk Dirty. Rebel Yell blows Idol's out of the water. And you can't help but love Lookin' Out My Back Door. Only other covers album that even stands in the same light this one does is Anatomy Of.... by Between The Buried And Me.

Best Cover ALBUM EVER!!

Every song is amazing even oops i did it again. I like how cob took non-metal songs and turned them metal. Instead of makng a bunch of metallica or slayer tributes they did the stuff metal bands won't normally do. If your one of those freaks that gets all upset if something isn't metal than this isn't for u.
It's good, buy it

It may be a bit overpriced
but not really since it's 18 songs

OMG

I just laughed so hard at the fact that a melodic death metal band did a cover of britney spears. And it's awesome but just so friken funny!
