Nineteen years ago, I had the providential experience of living and performing with this gifted, complicated soul my sophomore year in college. I witnessed first-hand the joys, triumphs, heartaches, and pain for that leg of her journey. When you hear this album, The Mosaic, you will capture a snippet of the brilliance and complexity indicative of all true maestros. Kabanya- Chemise is the real thing! The cut "Still Small Voice" is a great blend of smooth jazz, gospel, and R&B...and by far my all time favorite on the album. "Sky Blue" has a funky, inspirational groove that lifts the spirit. And last, but not least, is "This Time," a soul-stirring mix of neo-soul & traditional gospel that takes you to "chuuch" and back. This album is a must-buy!
