Great early 70's Rock

Slade is one of the great British 70's Rock Bands that participated in the Glam Rock trend but in the end had a style all of their own, not the least due to writing and composing credit to Noddy Holder and Jimmy Lea. The original Slade Alive made it to No 2 in the UK charts and even No 1 in Australia. Noddy's raunchy voice is great. Not sure how many people were actually there when it was taped, did not sound like too many, but the music is original, great rock which is not all buttered up with all the synthesizers and other electronic support crap as in most mondern day so called rock albums.

Slade Was Always Better Live! Living Proof!

Alright, I'm going to speak about this without making this an essay, which will be hard. Slade was an amazing live group. This albums explains that. "Keep On Rockin'" is phenomenal, and so is the Steppenwolf cover (We all know what that is). But "Slade Alive II". Thats worth more than 9.99. May be the best live album out there except maybe Hagar's "All Night Long". Both had legendary Live acts. Speaks for itself when you listen. So listen!

Take Me Back 'Ome by jerseyguy916

I had this album, way back when. Compared to most of the drivel forced upon the public, then and certainly now, this was a great piece of live, sweaty, REAL rock 'n' roll. Who cares about the sound quality? These guys weren't the Moody Blues!! Nothing here sounds pretty. Just some hard living, hard working, blue collar blokes who hit it big--for a short time--everywhere but the U.S. Do you wanna rock? Wanna get down, get with it? This was the real thing, early '70's Brit-style. Keep on rockin' Slade!!

Slade may have never truly caught on with American audiences (often narrow-mindedly deemed "too British-sounding"), but the group became a sensation in their homeland with their anthemic brand of glam rock in the early '70s, as they scored a staggering 11 Top Five hits in a four-year span from 1971 to 1974 (five of which topped the charts). Comprised of singer/guitarist Noddy Holder (born Neville Holder, June 15, 1946 in Walsall, West Midlands, England), guitarist Dave Hill (born April 4, 1946, in...
