Southern Underoath?
Screaming sounds like Chamberlain from Underoath, great singing on top of it! Southern edge works, thank goodness there was a lineup change, this blows that generic garbage thats flooding the market away! It won't take long for these guys to be one of the Hardcore Heavyweights!
Southern Punk Rock At It's Best!
This music will come out of nowhere and hit you smack-dab right in the face! Song's like North Atlantic Vs North Carolina, You're Luck It's Not 1692, and Been There, Done That, compose a beautiful symphony of trendy guitar riffs, hard-pounding drums, haert-pounding screaming and awesome break downs that make you wanna dance like Charlie Brown.. Very impressive live as well!
Stand Out Album In A Stagnant Scene
Memphis May Fire have released an outstanding rock album. Not screamo. Not post-hardcore. Not whatever labels there may be. This is just a great rock album. Compared with their previous EP, this full length release not only has fantastic hooks that make it accesible without being too poppy, but also powerful breakdowns. The singing and screaming, with the introduction of the new singer Matt, have both improved immeasurably. The singing is powerful. And what really sets the album apart from others is the fact that the screaming is actually intelligible. You can understand the words he is screaming, and the resulting songs are completely enjoyable. In a scene that is marred by generic bands, generic lyrics, and unintelligible screams, Memphis May Fire truly stand out.
